CEO Insight: Apparently We've Been Busy

CEO Insight: Apparently We've Been Busy

It's not really in my nature to brag about what our company has been doing.

Actually, if you would ask my marketing team, they would probably tell you I've been a bit too quiet.

According to the content calendar created by our wonderful marketing team, there should have been:

  • 3 January: CEO Insight, Wrap-up 2025

  • 3 April: CEO Insight, Wrap-up Q1 2026

  • 3 July: CEO Insight, Wrap-up Q2 2026

Instead, you're getting this article on 29 May 2026.

Which is a completely random date.

It's not the end of a quarter. It's not the end of a financial year. It's not even my birthday.

And yet, it felt like the right moment to write something.

First of all, because in June We Do Dev Work turns 18 months old.

Eighteen months is still very young for a company. Nobody is calling us a veteran yet. We still make mistakes, still learn every day and still have moments where we look at each other and wonder if we really know what we're doing.

But compared to where we started, we have matured a lot.

And quite a few things happened while I was being suspiciously silent on LinkedIn.

We moved out of our bedroom

Every adult eventually has to leave their bedroom.

For us, that bedroom was a co-working space.

A good co-working space and a serviced office,  but still it was a co-working space.

A few weeks ago, we moved into our own office in Asoke. One hundred and seventy-seven square metres to be precise.

For the first time, we have a space that truly feels ours.

We already hosted our first client events there. We have meeting rooms. Relaxation areas. Some very cool tables. A growing collection of furniture.

We also have bean bags without filling.
Apparently, ordering everything from Lazada at the same time isn't always the smartest strategy.

The office is not perfect yet. There are still things to improve. There are still boxes to unpack. There are still fake plants that somehow became part of the company culture.

But when I walk in every morning, it feels like home.

And that's a milestone I don't take for granted.

If you're in Bangkok, feel free to stop by for a coffee.

New faces, new energy

Building a company is ultimately about building a team.

At the end of 2025, Kitar joined We Do Dev Work as COO.

Kitar and I go back quite a while. Funny enough, he was originally a client of mine at Trienpont International.

Over the years we built trust, shared ideas and occasionally convinced ourselves that complicated projects were actually good ideas.

He understands how we work, what we stand for and what kind of company we want to build. Having him onboard has made a huge difference.

Our engineering team also became stronger: we welcomed a familiar face to the team. Everyone who ever worked with May knows how reliable she is. The perfect addition to our team!

We hired our first dedicated Admin and HR superhero, Charlotte. Officially I think her title is something more professional, but in reality she's one of those people who somehow manages to solve problems before everyone else even notices they exist.

And we welcomed Bam, our first Business Developer, but according to that same content calendar I don’t follow, you’ll get an introduction next week!

For a company our size, these additions matter:

  • Every person changes the culture.

  • Every person changes the pace.

  • Every person helps us become a little bit better.

While we are growing in headcount, the team that is there from the beginning did grow in every aspect. They skilled up, took more responsibility and are crucial to where we are today:

  • Wave who is crucial in our AI adaptation

  • Our brand designer Ping who makes our clients and our own brand stands out

  • Eye who still underestimates her UX/UI skills, while customers can’t stop complementing her with her design

  • Our software engineer Yok, who shows up every day

  • And of course Nong Nam, who is responsible for our social media (check out our IG page)

We started building for ourselves

One thing many people don't realize about agencies is that workload is naturally volatile. Some months are extremely busy. Some months are merely very busy. To keep our skills sharp and our team challenged, we've always worked on internal projects.

Originally, these were mostly practical tools:

  • Leave trackers.

  • Automation tools.

  • Internal dashboards.

The kind of projects that make life easier but aren't particularly exciting to talk about at parties.

Recently that changed: we launched Thairanked.

A project built from our love for Thailand, local discovery and content creation.

What started as an internal experiment is now generating revenue.

Not enough for anyone to retire yet, but enough to prove the concept.

Most importantly, it gave our team a chance to build, test, market and operate a product ourselves.

There's a big difference between building software for clients and building software where your own money, time and reputation are on the line. That experience makes us better at serving our clients too.

AI changed our industry

Like every software company, we've spent a lot of time thinking about AI:

  • The easy reaction would have been to panic.

  • The second easiest reaction would have been to pretend nothing changed.

We chose neither. :-)

At the end of 2025, we took a step back and asked ourselves a simple question: “What actually makes We Do Dev Work valuable?”

The answer wasn't code.

Don't get me wrong, code matters: we still write a lot of it. Just with a little bit of friendly help from our buddy called Claude or Kimi.

But nobody wakes up in the morning wanting code.

What do our clients really want?

  • People want products.

  • They want solutions.

  • They want businesses that operate better.

  • They want customers to buy more.

  • They want employees to work more efficiently.

  • They want ideas to become reality.

In short: they want either to make money or save money.

The code is simply one of the tools.

So we expanded our proposition.

Today, we help clients build digital products from concept to exit.

That includes workshops, product validation, branding, UX research, investor decks, software development, integrations, e-commerce and everything in between.

Because software without purpose is just expensive typing.

The projects got bigger too

One thing I'm incredibly proud of is that we continue to deliver.

And not just deliver:

  • We care.

  • We challenge assumptions.

  • We help clients think through problems.

Sometimes we probably ask too many questions.

On Monday 1 June, one of our biggest projects to date goes live: a complete overhaul of PUT-IT-ON.

At the same time, we're working on:

  • A very exciting AI tool called UniMeasureAI (you might have seen some videos about it)

  • An easy to use invoicing platform,

  • An internal platform for a world-leading water technology company

  • Activation campaigns for one of the largest multinational brands in the world

  • One of the most exciting financial products currently being built in Thailand.

Alongside that, we continue delivering Shopify stores, WordPress websites and custom platforms built with technologies like Next.js, Svelte, .NET and TypeScript. (Is this good for our SEO to name drop all the technologies?)

Sometimes I look at our project board and wonder if the team secretly found a way to add extra hours to the day.

We even got a new website

Because apparently we weren't busy enough, we launched a completely new website.

A website that better reflects who we are today, not who we were when we started.

If you haven't seen it yet, have a look at www.wedodevwork.com.

Looking back

Those who have followed our journey know We Do Dev Work didn't have the easiest start.

If I'm completely honest, there were moments where it felt like the company shouldn't even exist. Starting over is humbling. Personally, it took me some time to adjust to being back in startup mode.

But somewhere along the way I rediscovered the things I enjoy most:

  • Building teams.

  • Growing brands.

  • Creating products.

  • Helping clients succeed.

  • Solving problems.

And slowly, one step at a time, building something meaningful.

The funny thing is that when you're focused on doing the work, you rarely notice how much progress you're making.

Then suddenly eighteen months pass:

  • You have an office.

  • A growing team.

  • Happy clients.

  • Internal products.

  • A roadmap full of opportunities.

And people start asking what you've been doing all this time, apparently quite a lot.

I'll try to be less quiet going forward. Pinky promise!
